The Influence of the Territorial Factor on the Performance of Comprehensive Schools (the Case of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region)

The degree work on a subject «The Influence of the Territorial Factor on the Performance of Comprehensive Schools (the Case of Saint Petersburg and Leningrad Region)» is devoted to measuring the role of the territorial factor in the functioning of schools in the Leningrad region and its impact on educational inequality. The structure of the general education system in Russia and the Leningrad region is considered. The main criteria for assessing the quality of school activity are described and, on their basis, data for all secondary schools in the Leningrad region were collected. A comparative analysis of educational institutions in the Leningrad region was carried out using the comprehensive assessment method, and their rating was compiled. Using the method of spatial analysis, educational institutions were visualized on the map, taking into account the quality of their activities and the territorial features of the location. This study made it possible to identify educational institutions and specific areas that require targeted support from local authorities.
