In the course of the research "Assessment of the impact of state support measures for the development of single-industry towns (on the example of the North-Western Federal District)", a correlation and regression analysis using 10 indicators of socio-economic development was carried out to assess the degree of impact of the 3 main measures of state support. The studied support measures are the creation of TOR, construction of infrastructure and investment projects. Also, in the course of the research the concept of a single-industry town was defined and the world experience in the development of single-industry settlements was studied. Key words: single-industry town, town-forming enterprise, socio-economic development, state support, state programme.
