Plants occupy a central place in human life, performing fundamental functions in the biosphere, serving as sources of food and oxygen, and as raw materials for medicinal preparations. Plants accompany us everywhere: they grow in our gardens, decorate our homes, and create coziness in parks and forests. Their presence in our daily lives has not only practical but also cultural and emotional significance. Despite this, the ubiquity of plants often renders their aesthetic and cultural value invisible, leading to the phenomenon of “plant blindness.” The aim of this visual study is to analyze the transformation of plants from natural objects into works of art. The study focuses on examining the ways contemporary artists interact with plants. The visual study consists of three parts: interpretation, positioning, and imitation. The art objects described in the visual study are categorized based on the method of working with the material and the artist’s relationship to it. The study analyzes the works of contemporary artists who use plants as their primary material, revealing new ways of perceiving and appreciating the cultural significance of plants in their works.
