Role of the Bodies of the Judiciary in Protecting Judicial Status

This master's thesis is devoted to the organization and activities of the bodies of the judiciary, as well as their role in ensuring the independence of the judicial status. The practical significance of the thesis is in the fact that the knowledge and conclusions obtained can help improving legislation in the field of organization and activities of the bodies of the judiciary and correcting existing deficiencies that prevent the full provision of the independence of judges and the formation of an independent judiciary. When conducting the research, the author relied on current judicial practice, acts of the bodies of the judiciary, scientific works of Russian authors, as well as foreign experience in organizing bodies of the judiciary. In Chapter 1, the author examined the international legal framework for the organization and activities of bodies of the judiciary, conducted a historical and legal analysis of the formation and development of bodies of the judiciary in Russia and a comparison of the organization and activities of bodies of the judiciary in Russia and abroad. In Chapter 2, the author defined the role of the bodies of the judiciary in ensuring the independence of judges in several areas: selection and appointment of judges, personnel, organizational and resource support for judicial activities, training and career development of judges, procedure of judges’ liability. This work also draws conclusions about the need to improve the organization and activities of the bodies of the judiciary in Russia, including taking into account foreign experience, and formulates proposals for the development of legislation in this area and directions for further research.
