The Task of Selecting and Evaluating the Effectiveness of the Suppliers for Company's Transportation Department

Effective supplier selection and evaluation processes are crucial for businesses to maintain a competitive edge in today's dynamic market environment. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of supplier selection and evaluation processes, methods and models designed to face that task. The primary purpose of this study is to develop procedure for the selection and performance evaluation of personal protective equipment suppliers of the company`s transportation department, that will address the main criteria for the company. In order to obtain this goal, the theoretical aspects of the functioning of the logistics system; basic principles, functions and tasks of supply logistics as a functional area of logistics are described, as well as the structure of supplier selection and evaluation process is considered in the first part. The second part of this paper will present the critical literature review and analyses of variety of methods and models proposed by scholar. It will also contain an analyses of chosen company - "Gazprom UGS", its organisational structure and financial performance. Lastly, the proposed procedure of selection and performance evaluation of personal protective equipment suppliers of the company`s transportation department will be demonstrated.
