Psychoanalytic Aspects of Extreme Behavior of Leaders Using the Example of the Last Dive of the Titan Bathyscaphe Student: Polina Abalmasova Supervisor: Anna Kan Faculty: Faculty of Social Sciences Educational Program: Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Business Consulting (Master) Year of Graduation: 2024 The master's thesis is devoted to the study of the role of early narcissistic injuries affecting the formation of personality and its subsequent functioning, and interaction with the outside world. In the theoretical part, the phenomenon of extreme behavior of leaders is studied, the role of early narcissistic injuries in extreme behavior is explored, and the mechanisms of attraction to mortal danger are studied. The structure of this master's thesis consists of an Introduction, a Theoretical Chapter (Chapter 1), an Empirical Chapter (Chapter 2), Conclusions to the theoretical and empirical chapters of the study, a Conclusion and a List of References, presented on 62 pages of text. The number of literature sources used is 26, of which 16 are in Russian and 10 in English.” The dissertation is based on an analysis of sources of scientific psychoanalytic literature and biographical data from open sources. Empirical research is of particular value and novelty of the study of the psychoanalytic aspects of extreme leader behavior using the example of a real case that resulted in the death of all team members. This research may have practical implications for various areas of activity, including the development of professional development programs for leaders and risk management in the context of extreme conditions.
