This study explores the socio-cultural aspects of Chinese literature from the 1970s and 1980s, using the works of Lu Xinhua as a case study. During this time period, China underwent significant social and cultural changes, associated with the end of the Cultural Revolution and the start of a policy of reform and opening up. These developments were reflected in literature and became a source of inspiration for new themes, images, and artistic approaches. The paper analyzes two key works by Lu Xinhua, “Scars” and “Forest Dream”, written during this period, and examines what problems the author reflects in them.
