Educational Programme: Film Production (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2024

The current situation in the sphere of socio-economic development and cinematography in Russia is creating favorable conditions for the creative community engaged in the development of original Russian content, including feature films, documentaries, series, animated projects of various formats, and other forms of creativity. It is important to increase the volume of film production that meets global standards and actively compete in the domestic market. In recent years, box office statistics clearly show an increase in the share of domestic cinema. Therefore, the importance of preparing future filmmakers capable of creating in-demand content that will satisfy the audience's needs in various genres and film formats is increasing. As part of our graduation project, we set ourselves the task of independently selecting scripts and developing directorial concepts for three comedy projects: "Oops," "Masterpiece," and "Idol." We also carried out pre-production, production, and post-production for each of the projects within tight deadlines. Our choice of tight deadlines is due to the realities of working in the domestic film industry, where high competition requires quick adaptation to changing audience interests, as well as current social, political, and cultural trends. As a result of our graduation project, we created three ready-made proof of concept projects that have gone through all stages of development — pre-production, production, and post-production. These projects were developed to demonstrate to potential clients the practical feasibility of the methods, ideas, and technologies we used in the production process. Our goal was to confirm that these methods, ideas, and technologies not only work but will also be effective in the future.
