This thesis presents a comprehensive comparative analysis of the translation of discursive words in professional and student texts. The study delves into the intricate process of how discursive words, which play a vital role in conveying the intended meaning and tone in texts, are translated by professionals and students. By examining a corpus of texts in different languages, this research evaluates the strategies employed, the challenges faced, and the effectiveness of the translations produced by both groups. The investigation draws on theories of translation studies, linguistics, and discourse analysis to shed light on the nuances of translating discursive words. Through a combination of qualitative and quantitative analyses, the thesis identifies patterns, discrepancies, and areas of improvement in the translations carried out by professionals and students.
