Language acquisition is an important process in a child’s development, however its mechanisms are still not fully understood. Deficits might manifest themselves in language disorder and speech sound disorder (American Psychiatric Association, 2013), which might be reflected both in language performance and brain structure. The current work aims at describing language performance and related grey matter volume arternations in a heterogeneous group of Russian-speaking children with typical development, language disorder and speech sound disorder. The current research resulted in describing mistakes of participants and identifying language levels that were significantly more difficult for children with language disorder and speech sound disorder. Moreover, several clusters of grey matter differences associated with language performance and language development were identified.
