Kate Atkinson is a British writer whose work can be described as a combination of experimental prose and classical tradition. Detectives occupy a special place in her work. The Jackson Brodie book series currently consists of five books: "Case Histories" (2004), "One Good Turn" (2006), "When Will There Be Good News" (2008), "Started Early, Took My Dog" (2011), "Big Sky" (2019). This study will be devoted to their literary analysis in terms of the topics raised, features, genre features and context. All this is aimed at formulating the main characteristics of Kate Atkinson's work and thereby determining her place in the literary tradition, as well as describing the space in which the series of books about Jackson Brodie is located, how and what literary principles it reflects.
