This study examines the impact of the green agenda on FDI regulation in the context of global efforts to achieve sustainable development. In the context of global environmental challenges and increasing social responsibility of business, the green agenda becomes a key factor in attracting and regulating FDI. However, a number of challenges, such as arbitration proceedings initiated by investors in response to states' environmental regulatory initiatives, highlight the difficulties in implementing this agenda. The study focuses on analyzing the tensions between the pursuit of sustainable development and the need for investment protection. The aim of the study is to develop proposals for optimizing FDI regulatory mechanisms to effectively promote environmental standards without negative consequences for states attracting foreign investment.
