The topic of this work is “Measuring the agglomeration effect using data about Russian cities." This effect was examined in the context of the productivity of Russian cities, grouped and studied at the regional level. In the Russian context, understanding the impact of the agglomeration effect on cities is especially important due to the enormous size of the country and regional differences in economic development. The purpose of this study was filling the existing gap in empirical research by building a model to measure the agglomeration effect on Russian data for 2014 - 2022. The research question is: how do the size of the regional market, the accessibility of foreign markets and the level of economic diversification affect the final product produced in the region? Conclusions were drawn about the continued inequality of Russian regions and the need to pursue a policy of developing the transport structure and supporting lagging regions. The work format is individual.
