This paper examines the market of genomic analysis technologies in Russia, focusing specifically on the procurement of equipment, such as DNA sequencers. The study's primary goal was to discern trends within the genomic technology market, with a particular emphasis on DNA sequencing hardware. Spanning from 2013 to 2023, The study was conducted from 2013 to 2023 by using retrospective analysis method. The objectives included: determining DNA sequencers' applications; collecting and analyzing publicly available data on sequencer procurement in the public sector; detecting market trends within the Russian Federation, and projecting a forecast for the upcoming five years. Factors contributing to the growth of the DNA sequencing market were identified. The number of DNA sequencers acquired during this time period was determined. The sequencers were divided into two principal categories: traditional capillary sequencers and high-throughput sequencers, which include both mass parallel sequencing devices and single-molecule sequencers. Moreover, the main market segments utilizing this equipment were found. This segmentation was made based on the type of organizations that acquired the sequencers throughout the study period. Additionally, the findings help to pinpoint promising areas for the future implementation of DNA sequencers.
