Social and Economic Consequences of the Departure of Multinational Sports Companies for the Russian Running Industry

The paper presents the results of a study of the social and economic consequences for the Russian running industry after the departure of multinational sports companies. identification of the social and economic consequences for the running industry from the withdrawal of multinational sports companies from Russia. The paper considers mainly the supply side. To solve the tasks set, a qualitative method of data analysis was chosen: a semi-formalized interview with agents of the running industry and runners. The information base of the study includes a target data source: 15 interviews with representatives of agents of the running industry in Russia: employees of sports equipment stores, former employees of multinational sports companies, organizers of mass amateur races and 5 interviews with runners collected specifically for research purposes. As a result of the study, the changes that occurred in the running industry market after the departure of sports multinational companies, the attitude of experts in the running industry to the departure of brands, mechanisms for restructuring the commercial activities of domestic market players, as well as organizational solutions to preserve the interest of Russians in running were revealed.
