This study investigates the determinants of contraceptive adoption among women of reproductive age in Mali. The study is guided by the Health Belief Model to explore the complex interplay of socio-demographic, cultural, and healthcare-related factors influencing contraceptive intentions and use. Analyzing data from the 2018 Mali Demographic and Health Survey, the study highlights significant regional disparities in contraceptive use, with particular emphasis on the challenges faced by women in rural areas. The findings suggest that educational attainment, marital status, media influence, and employment status significantly affect women's intentions to use contraceptives. The study reveals a low prevalence of contraceptive intention among the study population, with only 37.62% of women expressing a willingness to use contraceptive methods. In order to boost the use of contraceptives and achieve sustainable development objectives, it highlights the crucial role that customized public health policies play in addressing cultural attitudes and enhancing access to reproductive health care. By improving resource allocation and influencing policy for reproductive health care in Mali, the research advances public administration.
