A lot of tasks related to natural language processing do not have a single solution applicable to any subject area. Songs and their lyrics may differ significantly from other types of text data. The effectiveness of applying various summarization methods developed for general use to song lyrics has not been previously investigated. Within the framework of this work, various approaches to the task of text summarization are considered, including extractive and abstractive summarization, as well as a way to improve the quality of summarization by coreference resolution.
