The beginning of Russia's special military operation on the territory of Ukraine in 2022 led to a powerful geopolitical confrontation between the modern West represented by the United States and the European Union with Russia. In the period from February 24, 2022 to the present, 13 packages of sanctions have been imposed on Russia, which include restrictive measures against the financial system of the Russian Federation, the departure of a number of major companies and changes in economic activities, as well as the closure of air, sea and land borders, which entails great difficulties for maintaining the Russian economy on the the previous level. The development of online commerce and marketplaces may become an alternative option for the development of the Russian economy under the prevailing sanctions. Online trading allows Russian entrepreneurs to circumvent certain restrictions and obstacles that exist in traditional trading operations. It also offers the opportunity to create new markets and attract customers from friendly countries. In such circumstances, the development of marketplaces may attract more attention from both domestic and foreign entrepreneurs and consumers from China in the face of sanctions. The success of Russian marketplaces can help mitigate the negative impact of sanctions on the economy and attract new sources of income for domestic companies. The study examines the theoretical aspects of the development of trade relations between the EAEU and China, analyzes the role of Russian marketplaces in this context, studies the characteristics and impact of marketplaces on the development of trade and economic relations, as well as identifying problems and opportunities of this sector in the context of sanctions. The purpose of the study is to identify the possibilities of Russian marketplaces in the territory of the EAEU when trading with China to reduce the negative effects of sanctions and their impact on international trade relations. This research is relevant in the context of the changing geopolitical situation and economic constraints, providing an analysis of the possibilities of Russian marketplaces in developing trade relations with China in a new reality. The results of the study suggest practical conclusions that contribute to strengthening the positions of Russian companies in the international arena through the development of online commerce and international partnerships.
