This research paper is devoted to a psychoanalytic view of aesthetic plastic surgery. The relevance of the study is due to the increasing number of patients' requests for aesthetic surgery, which is becoming an integral part of modern human life. Patients see it as an opportunity to change, improve and recreate their own body. Despite the continuous development and expansion of this field, there is quite little research in this area in Russia. The purpose of the work is to study the psychoanalytic aspects (mechanisms, motivations) of applying to aesthetic plastic surgery. The theoretical objectives of the work are to study the most relevant psychoanalytic concepts that are related to the topic of bodily interventions, the relationship between the body and the psyche. The paper analyzes the concepts of world-famous psychoanalysts such as Sigmund Freud, Jacques Lacan, Didier Anzier, Francoise Dolto, Donald Winnicott, Mary Douglas, and also presents the ideas of our contemporaries Margaret Gibson and Alessandra Lemma. The practical objectives of the study are to analyze relevant vignettes on this issue. The following materials are analyzed in this work: 1. The feature film "Day of Repentance" (1973) 2. Biography of Michael Jackson
