This thesis is dedicated to the exploration of the poetic techniques employed by Boris Pasternak in his translations of Georgian poetry. The significance of this topic lies in its relevance to ongoing discussions among literary scholars regarding the relationship between Russian and Georgian cultures, as well as its ability to shed light on changes in these intercultural interactions. For Pasternak, Georgia and its authors were an integral part of his personal and professional life, making him one of the foremost translators of Georgian literature into the Russian language. Among the writers he translated, this study focuses on the works of Titian Tabidze, Paolo Yashvili, Simon Chikovani, Valerian Gaprindashvili and others. The research is based on a comparative analysis of footnotes to original Georgian sources and Pasternak's own translations from the 1930s to 1950s, providing valuable insights into his poetic approach and the process of translation. Special attention is given to the analysis of the significance of Georgia and the friendship with Georgian poets on Pasternak's life and work, as well as an examination of critical reviews and memoirs from contemporaries.
