Filosofova – and being an important public and literary institution. The goal of this work is to describe the image of the Artel and its members in the memories of the contemporaries, to determine the significance of the Artel in the political and social context of 1860 – 1870-s, to display its specifics in comparison to other public artel-type associations, as well as to uncover the specifics of the translation strategies using the examples of two publications – «Tales» by H.-Ch. Andersen and «Little Women» by L. Alcott.
