Year of Graduation: 2024

The research is conducted in the context of the pressing issue of urban environment, where urbanization and population growth lead to ecological problems and worsen the quality of life for residents. Factors of negative impact, including noise and visual pollution caused by various sources such as transportation and industry, are considered. Urbanization and dense construction result in the destruction of green spaces, increasing the need for residents for green areas for leisure and relaxation. The aim of the research is to study the social and psychological aspects of green space utilization by residents, as well as their impact on residents' activity levels and noise reduction effects in residential areas. The research methodology includes surveying local residents to gather opinions on the accessibility and quality of green areas, measuring noise levels and air quality in different city districts, and collecting and analyzing data on the number of green zones using GIS systems. Analyzing the obtained data will allow evaluating the impact of green spaces on residents' quality of life and developing recommendations for improving the urban environment. The research results confirm the importance of green spaces for humans. Plants and green spaces are indeed capable of reducing the negative impact of the urban environment on humans, but this effect is most evident in those areas that are least affected by humankind, in particular forest parks and forest areas. People note an increased level of comfort and well-being in these natural areas. The results indicate that for full relaxation and restoration of emotional balance, areas are often required where human impact is minimized. Such territories allow a person to more fully immerse themselves in the natural environment, which contributes to deep relaxation and stress reduction.
