The study presents an analysis of gamer communicative behavior in web discourse, with a specific focus on the popular game Apex Legends. The study employs discourse analysis to examine the communicative strategies and tactics utilized by gamers within YouTube videos and discussions on Reddit. The findings reveal the prevalence of cooperative strategies and tactics. However, conflict strategies are also present and correlate with specific gameplay scenarios. The study adds to the theoretical realm of communicative behavior studies as no research was carried out in the context of Apex Legends. The implications of this research present practical value for both the game design industry and players, and emphasize the complex and diverse nature of communication among gamers, demonstrating how various tactics are employed in distinct gaming environments.
