The thesis on the topic “The Image of Fyodor Sologub in the Memoirs of Contemporaries” examines the reception of the image of Fyodor Sologub through memoirs, epistolary and critical materials of the writer’s contemporaries. The work is divided by three chapters, consistently revealing the image of Sologub through different points of view. The first chapter is devoted to the reconstruction of Fyodor Sologub’s self-perception through autobiographical elements of his work and some archival documents that were not published during his lifetime. The second chapter examines the aspect of Sologubov’s literary life: in subsection 2.1, the social aspect of Sologub’s life and his perception by his literary peers before and after 1908 are analyzed through the memories of contemporaries. In subsection 2.2, attention is focused on the image of Sologub, which developed the literary criticism of his works. The third chapter concentrates on the texts summing up Sologub's life and career: publications on the occasion of the 1924 anniversary and posthumous notes. The analysis was carried out both through the literary constructions identified for the symbolists, and through psychobiographical reasonings.
