Mystery and Mysticism in the Poetry of Sylvia Plath

This work is intended to demonstrate the spiritual path of Sylvia Plath, her religious views and their evolution in the work of the poetess. The main task is to identify the factors influencing the formation of Plath's position in relation to traditional religious practices and occult practices. The work presents the most common motifs and symbols associated with mysticism, their classification and meaning. The work presents a comprehensive analysis of Sylvia Plath's poems, as well as her letters and diary entries. The work presents a detailed analysis of the lunar motif, the divination motif, the symbolism of the Tarot, the symbolism of spiritualistic sessions, the motif of the witch woman and the symbolism of ghosts, which allow us to understand the relationship of the Plates with the inner Self, the relationship with father and mother, with Ted Hughes.
