In his final qualifying work, “A Psychoanalytic View of the Image of Banksy through His Work,” the author explores the connection between psychoanalysis and art, seeking to understand the essence of the creative process through the prism of psychoanalysis. The main task of the master's student was to study the image of Banksy and his work from a psychoanalytic point of view, for a deeper understanding of his works and himself. The author sought to decipher the hidden motives and emotions encoded in the works of the street artist, as well as analyze how his works interact with society, causing emotional responses in viewers. In the process of research, the author attempted to comprehend the role of the artist in the modern world and demonstrate the relevance of the psychoanalytic method in the context of the analysis of contemporary art and culture. Based on the results of the work, it was concluded that contemporary art acts as a kind of translator of processes occurring in people’s lives. It reflects changes in the world, such as immediacy, openness of information and the expansion of cultural boundaries (going beyond the walls of museums). The ability of art to transform reality into objects of special meaning makes it a powerful tool of self-expression, a means of exploring one’s own inner world and interaction with the surrounding space, both for the author and for the viewer. This highlights the importance of art in the context of psychoanalytic practice and its potential value for understanding patients and their inner worlds.
