The topic of the thesis "Maternal Violence Against Daughters: A Psychoanalytic Perspective" addresses a current and complex issue often overlooked in modern society—the significant impact of maternal roles on children's psychological development. The study focuses on the consequences of disrupted mother-daughter relationships, which can lead to serious issues in adulthood. The objective of this thesis is to conduct a psychoanalytic analysis of the impact of maternal violence on daughters, illustrated through the film "I, Tonya". The study explores the origins and manifestations of maternal violence, its psychological consequences, as well as the impact of violent upbringing on the formation of mental personality and self, with particular attention to aspects of envy, jealousy, and narcissism in the mother-daughter dyad. In the theoretical part, a systematic literature review was conducted to identify key aspects and mechanisms of violence, including its emotional, physical, and sexual manifestations. The empirical section provides a detailed analysis of the film to demonstrate the impact of violence on the personal and professional development of victims and explores how childhood traumas affect adult life.
