Today, there are many different approaches to defining the concept of “anxiety”. On the one hand, this is a state of a person, which is caused by a possible threat to him, on the other hand, anxiety is a psychological feature of a person who often experiences a feeling of anxiety and is prone to constant worries. Currently, the area where the least research has been done is the search for the true causes of anxiety. This same reason is one of the central ones in anxiety research. Determining them accurately requires a full understanding of how to consider anxiety – as a personal formation or a corresponding property of a person’s personality and character. Achievement motivation directly depends on the emotional experiences of the individual; thanks to his comprehension and rethinking of previous experience, new motivational factors are formed. Emotions of success and failure are a regulatory mechanism that reflects the level of goal achievement and an assessment of the justification of the activity. Emotions of success and failure state the goal, predetermining the outcome of the probability of achieving the goal. Depending on the functions they carry, emotions are classified into ascertaining and anticipatory. The motivation to avoid failures is understood as a developed mechanism for avoiding various mistakes and failures; those. For a person motivated to fail, the most important thing is not to make mistakes, sometimes even at the cost of transforming the original significant goal, its complete or partial failure to achieve. The desire for success indicates that a person has strong volitional qualities, while the predominance of the motive of avoiding failure defines the individual as inactive. Thus, motivation to achieve success is positive and contributes to a person’s personal development.
