The phenomenon of narcissism has been known since ancient times. In mythology and religion, there are warnings about excessive vanity and self-love. For the first time, the concept of "narcissism" is found in an ancient myth, the earliest version of which dates back to about 50 BC and is attributed to Virgil's mentor, Parthenius of Nicaea (Grenyer, Brin, 2020). Having appeared before our era, the concept of "narcissism" has now expanded to a personality disorder. The normal narcissism can contribute to an increase in self-esteem and well-being by enhancing a sense of self-importance (Oldham, Morris, 1995), while pathological narcissism can cause painful suffering for a person and his environment. However, it is worth noting that most often a narcissistic personality has difficulties in understanding and accepting the characteristics of his character. Her inner conflict is not realized. In pathological narcissism, there is a lack of empathy and poverty of the mental world, which makes it difficult to understand oneself and others, therefore, the main blow is taken by the narcissus' close people. A study by scientists conducted in 2019 showed that relatives and partners of a person with pathological narcissism experience a higher emotional burden than relatives of individuals with other mental disorders. People close to narcissus show high levels of anxiety and depression (Miller, 2007). The purpose of the graduate qualified work is to study and analyze the manifestations of pathological narcissism in interpersonal relationships using the example of the film "My King". This graduate qualified work is based on the hypothesis that people with pathological narcissism have huge difficulties in building interpersonal relationships. Due to the peculiarities of their character, they are prone to destructive behavior that destroys their relationship and has a negative impact on the psyche of their partner.
