Integration of a BI System in a Telecommunications Company

This final qualification paper is dedicated to the implementation of a business intelligence (BI) system to optimize the analytical processes of the product team of a telecommunications company. The relevance of the work is due to the fact that the evolution of digital tools is significantly changing business approaches and impacting the economy as a whole. Among them, business intelligence systems (BI) stand out, becoming accessible to a wide range of users, including business leaders, and serving as a concrete indicator of a company's competitiveness. This work explores existing BI system solutions in the market, the advantages they bring to businesses, and describes the process of implementing such IT tools in a telecommunications company. The study focuses on the product of the company "Mobile TeleSystems" ("MTS") within its digital product component, where a BI system was implemented, and examines the spam call market since the main goal of the service is to combat spammers and protect users. Research objective: To increase the efficiency of product analysts' work, provide users (product managers, CPO, external team members) with easy access to up-to-date data online, and facilitate prompt managerial decision-making based on visualized metrics of the MTS "Zaschitnik" product. The first chapter of the work investigates the situation in the global telecommunications industry market and the market in the Russian Federation, presents several examples of effective BI system implementations, and provides an overview of the operations of the object into which the system will be implemented - the MTS "Zaschitnik" product. The second chapter presents an overview of the business processes of the MTS "Zaschitnik" team, the BI systems market, including a comparative analysis of popular solutions, and the subsequent selection of a suitable BI system. The third chapter describes the process of implementing the selected BI system and developing an analytical report to optimize the monitoring activities of the product team.
