International relationships as a form of interaction between states are an inherent component of the world’s history. Interstate relations are considered to be a type of international relationships, involving states, whose cooperation covers such areas of social life as politics, economy, law and culture. Interstate relations are affected by multiple permanent and temporary factors including trade competition, territorial claims, political discord among heads of states on particular issues, conflicts and wars. The history of Russian-Chinese relationships dates back to centuries ago, through which the countries have been getting closer or more distant, experiencing alternating periods of friendship and frigidity. Current affairs between the countries formally defined as based on strategic cooperation and comprehensive partnership, implemented in accordance with “the relationships between great powers of the new-type” model. Both countries have been enforcing their positions on the world arena, promoting their views and influence on both global and regional scale. The affairs between the two countries have been specifically influenced by overlapping geopolitical interests, facilitating mutually beneficial cooperation in numerous spheres of international relationships, particularly in economy and politics. The aim of the thesis is to find out new elements in political and economic relations between Russia and China in 2022-2023.
