Currently, businesses in Russia, especially large ones, are facing significant challenges caused by both internal and external factors that undermine economic stability. In this context, cost control and supply chain flexibility are particularly important. One of the measures that can enhance their efficiency without fundamentally altering established business processes is the improvement of existing systems. The study also considered other options for addressing the identified problem. Thus, the goal of this work is to improve planning processes in a petrochemical company to reduce the share of slow-moving inventories in external warehouses in Russia. Implementing the proposed solutions will help reduce logistics costs, improve the quality of products delivered to customers, enhance the transparency and manageability of the supply chain, as well as explore methods for managing already accumulated slow-moving inventories and monitor and control other inventory characteristics at the company's external warehouses.
