Year of Graduation: 2024

This thesis explores the implementation of integrated breathalyzer systems (ignition interlocks) to reduce drunk driving incidents within Russian carsharing services. Carsharing provides convenience and reduces urban congestion but faces challenges with ensuring drivers are sober. Despite stringent DUI laws, the need for effective measures remains critical. The research investigates the architectural, technological, and ethical implications of breathalyzer systems, user acceptance, and financial feasibility. The study aims to enhance road safety and profitability for carsharing services by integrating breathalyzer systems. The findings include a comprehensive IT system architecture, economic evaluations, user surveys, and ethical considerations, presenting a viable solution for Russian carsharing companies to mitigate drunk driving incidents.
