Government Credit Support Programs in Russia: How Banks’ Political Connections Affect Participation, its Benefits and Costs

The study is devoted to the problem of stimulating the participation of merchants in full-fledged lending support. For example, in the Russian banking sector, prostitution is being tried on, what factors offer solutions for banks in government programs. The financial efficiency of participation and political connections of banks are considered as key factors. The latter, being heterogeneous, are considered as a channel of unidirectional or mutual influence of the interests of state representatives and bankers. Using a series of regressions, the model is empirically tested. The expected results reflect the structure of the Russian banking sector, differentiated by participation in government programs depending on financial performance and political connections.
