Implementation of a BI System in a Bank

This thesis is dedicated to the development and implementation of a new BI system at Tinkoff Bank to replace the existing business analytics tools, Tableau Server and Tableau Desktop. The aim of the work is to improve the efficiency of data analysis and support the strategic goals of the bank's digital transformation. The following tasks were set within the research: Study of the types of BI systems and their application in the banking sector. Investigation of the processes for selecting BI systems and methods of their implementation. Analysis of the functionality of Tableau, gathering requirements, and selecting a replacement. Study of the architecture and business processes of Tinkoff Bank, preparing for the implementation of the new system. Conducting the implementation of the new BI system and collecting data on the outcomes and efficiency of the implementation. The following results were obtained during the work: An analysis of existing BI systems, their functionality, and applicability in the banking sector was conducted. Requirements for the new BI system were determined based on the analysis of current business processes and the limitations of existing solutions. The architecture of the new BI system was developed, meeting the bank's needs. A pilot implementation of the system was conducted, and data were collected and analyzed, confirming the improvement in the efficiency of analytical processes. Based on the research conducted, the following recommendations were made: To maintain high standards of analytics and digital transformation, it is recommended to use the BI system developed within this work. Additional training for bank employees should be conducted to effectively use the new analytical tools. Regular monitoring and evaluation of the performance of the implemented BI system should be conducted, adapting it to changing requirements and market conditions.
