Optimization of Cardiogenetic Data Storage Using Relational Databases

Student: Letyagin Stepan

Supervisor: Maria Poptsova

Faculty: Faculty of Computer Science

Educational Programme: Data Analysis for Biology and Medicine (Master)

Year of Graduation: 2024

The issue of optimal information storage, including genetic information, is yet still open. Data extraction and storage has become a lot cheaper, which leads to an increase in the volume of stored data, and this in turn imposes a certain number of restrictions on the following processes of information extraction and its further analysis. Of the many different data storage methods, relational databases have not performed well in this area. As part of this work, it was demonstrated not only that usage of relational databases simplifies access to genetic information, but also reduces the amount of memory used to store this kind of data.
