The influence of the volume and format of communication on the emotional state of students This final qualifying work is devoted to the study of the influence of the volume and format of communication on the subjective well-being of students, since through the study of their emotional state, Social communications play an important role in human life, contributing to reducing stress levels and improving the quality of life. The rapid spread of mobile devices has expanded opportunities for social interactions, but it remains unclear which communication format (online or offline) is more conducive to subjective well-being. Face-to-face communication is associated with a high level of well-being. Research has shown that personal interactions significantly increase the level of subjective well-being. At the same time, the results of research on the impact of online communication on well-being are ambiguous. Some studies have found a positive relationship between online communication and life satisfaction, while others have a negative correlation. Thus, the purpose of this study is to clarify the understanding of the relationship between different communication formats and subjective well-being. To achieve this goal, the Experience Sampling Method (ESM) was used, which allows us to obtain data on the state of subjective well-being at the moment. The study involved a sample of students who completed surveys about their communication and emotional state for two weeks. The assessment of subjective well-being was carried out using the PANAS methodology. The main research questions: How is the different communication format (online and offline) related to the subjective well-being of students? Does the volume of communication affect the level of positive and negative affect? This study contributes to understanding the impact of the format and volume of communication on the subjective well-being of students. It showed that offline communication has a more positive effect on emotional state than online communication. However, the question remains unclear in which situation the level of well-being is higher: with online communication or with its complete absence. The study has a number of limitations: the predominance of the female sample, the lack of consideration of mixed interactions (online and offline at the same time), the non-use of some collected variables, and working only with complete observations
