Emotional Burnout Coping Strategies of Mothers with Many Children

Abstract The research is devoted to the study of ways of emotional burnout coping strategies of mothers with many children. The study consisted of two stages. The sample of the first stage consisted of 102 mothers with many children. As a result of the first stage it was established that labor activity of a mother with many children can be one of the strategies of coping with manifestations of emotional burnout. At the second stage, a qualitative study of ways of coping with emotional burnout was conducted. The sample of the second stage for semi-structured interviews consisted of 12 mothers with many children: 6 - with high level of emotional burnout, 6 - with the absence of emotional burnout. As a result of the second stage it was revealed that parental self-esteem of a mother with many children has a significant impact on the emotional state of the woman and can, in case of its decrease, provoke manifestations of emotional burnout. It was found that mothers with many children noted labor activity as a way of coping. The study has shown that mothers with many children predominantly use cognitive and behavioral coping types with EV manifestations.
