The interaction between mother and child is the primary model of relationships, which, one way or another, is reflected in various aspects of the child’s development, including his subsequent relationships with Others and, in general, psychological well-being. This work is devoted to identifying the relationship between emotional closeness with a child and the characteristics of marital relationships among mothers of preschool children. The study involved 791 women aged 23 to 41 years old, who were in a registered marriage and had a common preschool-age child with their spouse. The following methods were used: “Parent-child interaction” (Markovskaya, 2006), “Emotional relationships in the family” (Zakharova, 1997), “Measuring romantic attachment in adults” (Kryukova, Ekimchik, 2009), “Communication in the family” (Aleshina , 1987). The study revealed the relationship between parenthood and marriage: the greater the emotionality, closeness and stability of the mother in her relationship with her partner, the greater the satisfaction with her relationship with the child, and the more clearly expressed the mother’s desire to get closer to her partner and the more trusting the relationship with him, the less she strives for physical contact with the child and the more difficulties she experiences in understanding the causes of his condition. And the closer (mutual understanding, similarity of views) and comfortable relationship the mother has with her partner, the more positive the relationship with the child (emotional closeness, acceptance of the child, desire to cooperate, satisfaction with the relationship), and the lower mothers rate mutual understanding with their spouse, the more To a degree, they are able to empathize with their child, recognizing him as an individual and accepting him unconditionally, with all his strengths and weaknesses. Based on the results of the study, a webinar program was developed aimed at strengthening emotional intimacy in communication between parents and preschool children.
