Adapting an Operating Model While Creating the Ecosystem of the Company Misty Group

This graduate work examined initiatives to adapt the operating model of Misty Group. The need to adapt the company’s operating model is confirmed by the fact of creating an ecosystem of subsidiaries that are part of the group. This approach to conducting business as a single ecosystem of multi-professional enterprises fundamentally changes the principles of its doing, affecting both the basic and supporting processes. The aim of this work is to develop recommendations for the adaptation of the Misty Group operating model, taking into account the company's transition to the ecosystem format of a multi-professional business. The following objectives have been achieved to the objective of the work: 1) Identify the concept, essence and role of ecosystems in business; 2) Explore best world and domestic practices of creating and functioning ecosystem; 3) Identify the structure and composition of the Misty Group ecosystem and identify key business processes in each project; 4) Identify and shape the business model of the company and identify its weaknesses; 5) Identify directions for improving the operating model of the Misty Group ecosystem; 6) Formulate recommendations and proposals for improving the efficiency of the Misty Group ecosystem 7) Evaluate the gap between the current state and the desired state of the company (Gap-analysis), and also evaluate the old and updated operating models. To accomplish the tasks, the following tools and techniques were used: literature review; consulting research analysis; Operating Model Canvas; SWOT analysis of the operating model; analysis and description of business processes; Gap analysis of old and updated operational model. The following recommendations were proposed for the company to adapt its operating model to the new conditions: 1) Create a scaling strategy and rely on it in finding new partners and making decisions to incorporate a new project into the ecosystem; 2) Create conditions for enhancing cross-project interaction within the eco-system; 3) Develop a marketing campaign in order to increase the recognition of the Misty Group, rather than individual projects; 4) Formation of general principles of corporate culture and unified development of staff; 5) Description and regulation of business processes of the management company Misty Group.
