Mergers and acquisitions have been one of the drivers of growth and consolidation in the telecommunications market in Russia throughout their history. With the increase in the number of transactions, companies' management is faced with the question of how to properly assess the effectiveness of mergers and acquisitions, which necessitates research in the format of a master's thesis. The thesis provides theoretical foundations of mergers and acquisitions, analyzes the main stages of development of the telecommunication market in Russia, and analyzes previous methods for assessing the effectiveness of such transactions. Particular attention is paid to the use of regression analysis to assess the relationship between the performance of a combined company before and two years after the transaction, as well as the impact of key determinants on the efficiency of transactions in the telecom industry. The results of the thesis will be useful for the management of telecommunications companies when planning future mergers and acquisitions, as well as for other interested parties.
