Ways for the Improvement of the System of the Pharmacists Professional Training in the Russian Federation

To achieve high rates of innovative development in the healthcare sector of the Russian Federation, it is necessary to modernize higher medical education in general and pharmaceutical education in particular. The need to search for new approaches in the training system of pharmaceutical companies ensures a total shortage of personnel in the drug supply system. The purpose of this study is to develop recommendations for improving the modern system of training professional pharmaceutical workers in the Russian Federation. Based on the conducted research, a general algorithm has been developed for students to receive additional professional education in parallel with training in the main professional educational program of higher education in the specialty “Pharmacy”. Based on the compilation of the algorithm and taking into account the wishes of the interviewed students and experts in a more detailed study of the field of drug research, an advanced training program “Specialist in support of preclinical and medical research” was developed, including 2 modules with a distribution of 72 hours.
