The Use of Simulation Modeling in the Production of Specialized Vehicles

Student: Anastasiya Baranova

Supervisor: Igor Privalov

Faculty: Faculty of Management (Nizhny Novgorod)

Educational Programme: Business Administration (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2024

The purpose of this study is to analyze the possibilities of using simulation models to optimize business processes in the production of specialized vehicles and to test the hypothesis that the introduction of such models will lead to an increase in efficiency by at least 5%. The research uses in-depth interviews, the observation method and simulation modeling of the car assembly process as methods. The agent-oriented type of the model best reflected the connections of the system participants with each other. AnyLogic was chosen among the simulation programs due to its highly developed knowledge base, high accuracy, a wide range of built-in libraries, a rich selection of distribution functions and cross-platform compatibility. The study was conducted using the example of the car assembly process of AutoLik LLC. As a result, a simulation model of the existing process was built, its analysis and optimization were carried out, reflected in the "to be" model. The optimization was carried out through the introduction of conveyor lines for supplying parts to the car assembly site and transporting the assembled car, as well as a frost collector that automates the process of cleaning technical debris. Due to these innovations, it was possible to reduce the number of required labor, as well as reduce the total assembly time of one car by 11 minutes (9%).
