Video games are a relatively new art form, not yet fully explored, but already playing a key role in the entertainment industry. For the best possible distribution of games on the global market, high-quality localisation is essential. This is especially relevant for game genres with a strong story component and a lot of dialogue, such as interactive films. This study examines the features and difficulties inherent in the localisation of video games in the interactive film genre. The purpose of this study is to identify and describe the localisation features inherent primarily in interactive films, as well as to propose potential solutions to improve and facilitate the process of localisation. To achieve this goal, scientific works on the topic of linguistics were studied to compile a theoretical basis for the study, and a comparative analysis of two Russian-language localisations with versions in English was carried out. The results of this research may be useful for practical applications in video game localisation and theoretical studies.
