Research of the Preferences of Chinese Applicants when Choosing a Russian University for Study

A study of the preferences of Chinese applicants when choosing a Russian university for study. The reasons why Chinese students choose to study in Russia are that Russian universities are very popular (Russia has always ranked first in the world in physics, chemistry, mathematics and other disciplines); compared to the high cost of education in some European and American countries; the cost of studying in Russia, which is relatively low, the advantage of learning the Russian language. The purpose of this study is to highlight the factors influencing the choice of Chinese applicants to a Russian university for study. This paper examines sources of information about Russian universities, identifies the reasons for the interest of Chinese applicants in these universities with a description of the significance of such interest within the framework of international relations, describes the process of admission of Chinese citizens to Russian universities (from the features of collecting and submitting documents to enrollment in a specific university) Based on a survey of relevant applicants, a description is given of the strategy of educational institutions in terms of admitting Chinese citizens to study, and the prospects for Russian educational services in the Chinese market. As a result of the study, we identified factors that determine the priority of choosing Russian universities, such as the high level of recognition of Russian diplomas abroad, the professionalism and qualifications of Russian teachers, the justification of choosing Russian universities through the recognition of specialists from Russia who achieve significant success in their professional activities in China; Recommendations have been developed for Chinese applicants when applying to Russian universities, in particular: to pay attention to visa processing, peculiarities of language communication in Russia, culture and social etiquette, and also not to forget about security issues.
