The use of literary texts, particularly fairy tales, in foreign language education has garnered interest due to their rich linguistic and cultural content. Fairy tales not only captivate learners' imaginations but also introduce them to cultural narratives, idiomatic expressions, and complex grammatical structures in a contextualized manner. The tales of Charles Perrault, renowned for their moral lessons and enchanting narratives, offer a wealth of material for educators. The present study explores the theoretical foundations and practical applications of utilizing fairy tales in foreign language education, with a specific focus on teaching French as a second language through the tales of Charles Perrault. The research underscores the didactic potential of fairy tales in language learning, highlighting their effectiveness in enriching vocabulary, grammar, and contributing to speaking and writing skills across various ages and proficiency levels. The paper delves into the unique composition, structure, and linguistic-cultural features of Perrault's fairy tales, evaluating their utility in teaching French to university students at the intermediate level (B1). The research further presents the development of methodological materials inspired by Perrault's stories, aimed at enhancing French grammar, vocabulary, and speaking and writing skills. By integrating fairy tales into language instruction, this study demonstrates a creative and effective approach to foreign language education, offering insights into how traditional narratives can be repurposed for modern educational objectives.
