This research explores the educational potential of British fairytales and legends in the teaching of English as a foreign language. The study seeks to understand how folklore can be effectively employed in language learning environments to engage learners at intermediate proficiency level, while recognising the cultural value of these tales. The study employs qualitative research design and is a literature review of articles and educational materials that discuss the use of British folktales and legends in language education, featuring a profound examination of existing pedagogical practices and theoretical frameworks related to the integration of folklore into language teaching. The results indicate that British folklore can contribute to the language learning process by motivating learners, enriching their cultural insights, and fostering analytical skills, the developed tasks can be integrated into the educational process of secondary school students.
