The research is aimed at analysing the features of translating terminology in literary studies from English into Russian. The study examines the concept of a term, reviews the potential difficulties of its translation, selects possible strategies for solving them, and formulates the problematic nature of working with literary terms. The aim is to create, on the basis of this research, a scientific translation of the article "Narrative Double-Voicing in Lermontov's A Hero of Our Time" by an American Slavist Lewis Bagby, which is devoted to the analysis of the Russian classic novel using the discourse typology proposed by M. Bakhtin. The translation of the article also takes into account its peculiarities as a work based on Russian-language sources, uses the described translation strategies, and pays special attention to the accuracy of translation of literary terms.
