Unconscious determinants of transition from the role of an employee to the role of a business owner Name of students: Olga Mikhailovna Vitoshko, Diana Eduardovna Gabdrakhmanova, Oksana Vladimirovna Maksimova, Anna Vladimirovna Chaikovskaya Supervisor: Anna Sergeevna Kan Campus/Faculty: Faculty of Social Sciences Program: Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Business Counseling (Master's Degree) Year of defense: 2024 Annotation to the final qualification work. Topic: "Unconscious determinants of the transition from the role of an employee to the role of a business owner". Volume of the qualification work is 156 pages. While writing the work, 84 sources were used. Keywords: unconscious determinants, role, role transitions, role of an employee, separation, liminality, incorporation, role of a business owner, sublimation. The subject of research are unconscious determinants that have a significant impact on the transition from the role of an employee to the role of a business owner. The work consists of an introduction, theoretical and empirical chapters, conclusions, a conclusion, a list of literature and appendices. The relevance of the work lies in the fact that at present there are few studies in the scientific space on the topic of career role transitions, particularly the transition from the role of an employee to the role of a business owner, even less so from a psychoanalytic perspective. In the introduction, we describe the relevance and importance of the chosen topic, the goals of the study, and also voice hypotheses about the fact that unconscious determinants have a significant impact on the transition from one professional role to another, particularly when transitioning from the role of an employee to the role of a business owner; as well as the fact that the transition from the role of an employee to the role of a business owner intensifies conflictual unconscious dynamics. In the first chapter, an analysis is made of psychological and psychoanalytical theoretical approaches and concepts relevant for describing the situation of transition from employment to entrepreneurial activity. In the second chapter, the analysis of theoretical concepts is supported by a two-stage empirical study. In the empirical study, we identified and solved the following tasks: to study the influence of unconscious determinants on role transitions in a career through individual coaching work with clients, as well as through search groups; to determine the presence of unconscious conflict dynamics during role changes; to identify dominant unconscious factors that affect the individual during the transition from the role of an employee to the role of a business owner; to identify similar unconscious determinants in those who have made the transition from the role of an employee to the role of a business owner and those who only have such intentions; to summarize and systematize the results of the study; to identify psychoanalytic aspects of the entrepreneur's role (business owner). The goals of our research have been achieved. Hypotheses that unconscious determinants have a significant impact on the transition from the role of an employee to the role of a business owner, and that this transition is accompanied by an exacerbation of unconscious conflict dynamics, have been confirmed. The conclusion is devoted to the main findings and recommendations.
