In this final qualifying paper, the author examines the phenomenon of unwitting seduction by a woman, using the example of the protagonist of the film "Jeanne Dubarry" by Maiwenn Le Besco. The aim of this research work is to identify and demonstrate the causes of this seductive behavior as an unconscious component of a woman's sexual identity. Seduction as a trait related to a woman's sexuality involves a study of classical Freud’s theories of attraction, the seduction theory and the theory of infantile sexuality. Based on Freud's ideas about libido and psychosexual stages, this paper identifies the factors that may influence a girl's development of sexuality at each stage. It draws on scientific publications from modern psychoanalysts and psychoanalytic psychotherapists to support this analysis. The practical part of the study consists of the analysis the film "Jeanne Dubarry", directed by Maiwenn Le Besco and released in 2023, using a psychoanalytic lens. It focuses on the main character's personality and her life path, considering her development through the lens of psychoanalytic theory, with a particular emphasis on the formation of her female sexuality and its inherent feature of seductiveness. The etiology of the seduction phenomenon in the main character of King Louis XV's reign is traced through identification of factors that shaped Jeanne's personality and led to the fixation of her libido at a pre-genital level. The last paragraph of the practical part of this paper presents a comparative analysis of seduction in hysteria neurosis and borderline functioning. The practical relevance of this topic lies in the increasing interest among modern women in their sexuality. The findings of this study can be utilized in both the theoretical realm (for writing papers on female sexuality and its development, as well as a more in-depth analysis of the "seduction" phenomenon onto uncover its new aspects) and in a practical setting, such as applying the study's results directly to psychoanalytic session.
